I preordered COPPER SKIN, OAKEN LUNGS from The Crafty Bookstore because I was excited to read a story where magic exists in a post-apocalyptic world. A speculative story centering sisters—Justīne and Anna—was also a major draw.
Overall, this story is marvelous. It feels familiar and new all at the same time. Bassett did a fantastic job writing this world and these characters. I definitely recommend reading CSOL. Also, Pūka the cat is the best!
