Blades & Blood (Sparrow & Raven Trilogy #1) by TM Martinez:

Twenty-six-year-old Quin Lark has spent her life as a weapon—an assassin bound to a guild that gave her no choice but to kill, clinging to what little control she has by choosing targets she believes deserve death. When a high-risk contract offers her a chance at freedom, she is forced into an unwanted alliance with her archnemesis, Silas Stone.

But the mission quickly unravels in the capital city of Nightfall, where they uncover a terrifying truth: the king’s men are infected by an ancient parasitic force so dark it was cast out by the gods themselves…and it’s spreading.

As war looms and the parasite closes in, Quin must decide whether freedom is worth the cost of trusting the one man she was trained to destroy.

BLADES & BLOOD combines the high-stakes of The Serpent and the Wings of Night, the enemies-to-lovers of From Blood and Ash, and the unsuspecting twists of Metal Slinger.
