This book absolutely beats ever story, movie, noval that I've come across for "first 48hrs of shit hitting the fan". I live in Tallahassee, so being able to drive by some of the landmarks on my daily commute adds a new sense to the horror. I can really envision the chaos unfolding. The characters each have enough depth, but don't overwhelm or take from what's happening. I love that you get just enough to make them real, including their fear. Overall, I'm excited for the next book in this series!
This has become my favorite “end of the world” series. It’s a realistic military thriller with lots of horror moments scattered in for the enjoyable cast to navigate. The book starts with a mystery and then thrusts you into the survival of both civilians and military.
