After fleeing Rivenden with Nerissa on their heels, Adara and Orion find themselves teamed up with Arkalis, the eccentric wizard, and Atalia, the fae who makes it clear she would rather be anywhere else. After a startling revelation, they are attacked. Adara’s attacker may not be telling them who sent him, but he isn’t the only one keeping secrets.

When Orion wakes one morning and finds Adara has gone missing, he makes it his sole mission to find her. After almost losing her in Rivenden, he swears he will stop at nothing until his wife is back in his arms.

Meanwhile, when Adara wakes up in a foreign land with no recollection of arriving, she learns she has been betrothed to the Almerian king against her will. However, she quickly learns there is a reason the genie kingdom is hidden and she won’t be safe as long as she is trapped there.
